Every year since 1987, a group of friends from the San Francisco Bay Area have gotten together for a backpacking trip into the Sierra Nevada mountains on the eastern side of California. The number of participants has varied from as few as three, to as many as seven in recent years.

The basic idea is to get away from the hectic pace of everyday life in the Bay Area, and to enjoy the splendor and natural beauty of the wilderness. In this regard, the trips have been at least partially successful.

While the earlier trips were either poorly documented or not documented at all, the more recent ones have been recorded for posterity in the form of web pages by the author. I invite you to click on the links below for what is hopefully an interesting glimpse into these adventures.
