The pelicans are ubiquitous in La Ventana. Throughout the day, there is nearly an endless parade of them, gracefully gliding along the shoreline at or just above water level, from the south end of the bay toward the north. They are rarely seen going the other direction, so I don't know how they replenish the supply. Occasionally they will congregate along rocky sections of the shore to rest. And when the fishing boats return in late morning with a good day's catch, get ready for a pelican feeding frenzy as the fish are cleaned right on the beach. |
