Bruce had been eyeing for some time a very large patch of sand sloping down out of the hills southwest of La Ventana. He wanted to see if he could use it for practicing his fledgling  paragliding. After talking to a few local people who knew how to get there, we set out one day in the 4 wheel drive to try to find it.

We drove around for quite some time, at times in dried out river beds (arroyos), at times on dirt roads, in search of the sand spit. But we never did find it. This picture of a free-ranging cow (actually a bull, as you'll notice if you look closely) was taken along the way.
