The residents of La Ventana tend to be devout Catholics, as might be expected, and this plays a large roll in their lives, and even death. About a quarter mile south of town, on a gentle hill, lies the town graveyard. It is an amazing place, full of the most beautiful and elaborate shrines imaginable. I was simply incredulous the first time I visited here, 3 years ago.

I had planned to take many pictures, but I was here in early morning, and the setting really favors late afternoon light. I decided to take just a few shots, and then return some other time in late afternoon for more. But alas, I never made it back.
