A few hours into our
hike on Day 3, we stumble upon this sign ("IDIOTS") in the middle of
the trail. How odd! This is unquestionably the work of the 3 idiots who became
lost the day
before. But how did they manage to get ahead of us?
It turns out that they
eventually realized their mistake the previous day, and set out to
catch up with us at Isberg Lake last night. But because of their detour, they
didn't have
time to make it all the way. Despite their track record for getting lost, they
made the
highly questionable decision to tempt fate and blaze an off-trail shortcut
somewhere around
Post Peak, thus by-passing the northern tip of the trip and lopping off a couple
of hours.
By some divine miracle,
they actually succeeded, and spent the night at Joe Crane Lake,
which is about an hour ahead of the rest of us. Their story should be an
inspiration
to all the retards
dim wits mentally
challenged people out there.
